This past fall, Harvester took a look at God's design and purpose for the church. Our goal is to continue to be a Church in Action long after the series has ended.
Below we have some opportunities for service. We hope you will get involved in serving ... here at HCC or out in the community.

In Action In OUR COMMUNITY
| 1 | Youth in Need www.youthinneed.org 636.757.9334 This organization provides nurturing environments and educational opportunities so children, youth, and families can find safety and hope and build a positive future.Volunteers assist children and teens in classrooms, centers, and residential facilities, and help with donation drives, building projects, and more. |
| 2 | Habitat for Humanity www.habitatstcharles.org/restore/volunteer.htm 636.978.5712 You usually think about building houses as part of Habitat, but there are also volunteer opportunities available at its re-sale store in St. Peters. Opportunities involve all aspects of operating a storefront: customer service, cashier, stocking shelves, and warehouse work. Proceeds go to building homes in St. Charles. |
| 3 | American Red Cross www.redcrossstl.org [select Get Involved | Volunteer] Disaster Action Teams (DAT) are ready to respond to local fires, storms, floods, hazardous spills, and many other disasters, 24-hours a day, 365-days a year. DAT volunteers offer emergency assistance at the scene of disasters by providing food, clothing, shelter, and financial and mental health assistance. The Red Cross provides complete training. |
| 4 | Crisis Nursery www.crisisnurserykids.com/volunteer_opportunities.htm 636.940.0748 Rocking babies, singing songs, playing games, and reading aloud are just a few of the activities listed on the job description of volunteers at the Crisis Nursery, a safe haven that protects children, ages birth to 12 years, by providing temporary, 24-hour shelter when their families are in crisis. |

Volunteers are needed to help out on Sunday mornings setting up, serving, or cleaning up in the Community Lobby. Stop by the cashier's area to see what weeks and times have openings. Sign up there or ask for Gary and Jackie Reed. This is an easy way to serve and meet people!

We need the following positions for Sunday mornings on a rotating schedule:
• Greeters at the main entrances or on the parking lot
• Early morning set up
• Collecting friendship notebooks after 3rd service

The following workers are needed on Saturday nights on a rotating schedule of once or twice a month:
• Elementary teachers • Nursery workers
We need the following workers on Sunday mornings on a rotating schedule:
• Sunday morning elementary teachers for the 8 a.m. service
• Sunday morning teachers in Early Childhood
